On September 9–10, the Asia Triathlon Cup and the Central Asian Championship in triathlon took place on the shores of Lake Issyk‑Kul (2023 Asia Triathlon Cup and Central Asian Championship Cholpon‑Ata). This large‑scale, visually stunning, high‑energy event was organized by the Triathlon Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Department of Physical Culture and Sport under the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The prize fund in the Elite category was USD 6,000, distributed among the top five male and top five female athletes. In the women’s race, Kazakhstan’s Ekaterina Shabalina won gold with a significant gap. In the men’s race, Germany’s Chris Zeihmer took the win.
